Low back (sciatic) pain

Sciatic pain can be tricky as there are many causes.  First of all, the DISCLAIMER: if you haven't contacted a doctor for diagnosis and his advice or referral to a specialist, please do so.

A local massage therapist has 3 bulging disks and developed this for his own use.  I find it works with pinched nerves and general LOW BACK aches.  Another DISCLAIMER: if you feel increased pain using this technique, STOP IMMEDIATELY!

The technique:  Fold a towel or blanket about an inch thick.  Place it on the bed so that the lower edge will be at the top of your hip bones (iliac crests) when you lie on it...approximately 1 inch below the waist.  If you can lie with your legs straight, do so.  If not, bend them and put your feet on the bed.  Lie this way for 20 minutes,  twice a day for up to five days.  If it hasn't worked by then, it isn't going to work.  Usually, this works for me in 1 or 2 days.
