Sciatic pain can be tricky as there are many causes. First of all, the DISCLAIMER: if you haven't contacted a doctor for diagnosis and his advice or referral to a specialist, please do so.
A local massage therapist has 3 bulging disks and developed this for his own use. I find it works with pinched nerves and general LOW BACK aches. Another DISCLAIMER: if you feel increased pain using this technique, STOP IMMEDIATELY!
The technique: Fold a towel or blanket about an inch thick. Place it on the bed so that the lower edge will be at the top of your hip bones (iliac crests) when you lie on it...approximately 1 inch below the waist. If you can lie with your legs straight, do so. If not, bend them and put your feet on the bed. Lie this way for 20 minutes, twice a day for up to five days. If it hasn't worked by then, it isn't going to work. Usually, this works for me in 1 or 2 days.

Welcome!
Welcome to my blog! I'm excited to start out on this new adventure. My son has encouraged me to write and share some of my healing knowledge and experience, so that's what this will be about. In addition, I've recently developed an interest in eating healthier largely due to companies like Monsanto, who seem to be hell bent on robbing us of good nutrition. I cannot even imagine the far reaching effects of this on the generations to follow. Corporate greed knows no bounds it seems.
A little background on me: I was largely in the corporate world for most of my life. I managed law firms and other offices; sold real estate, life insurance, mutual funds, health insurance. I sojourned into photography for a few years by winning a Florida State Recreation Department contest. My photo was on the cover of the directory that year and they gave me a show at a local recreation department. That began my journey into selling photographs at art shows on weekends. In the late 90's when floundering and wondering which way to go next, I became interested in Reiki and became a Reiki master. In the state of Florida, the massage board took over the task of overseeing Reiki practitioners, so I attended massage school to get my license. I loved massage! My mother became ill about 2001 and as I watched staff at the rehab work with her, I became interested in Physical Therapy Assisting. After 2 years in school full-time, working full-time and doing massage on the side, I graduated from PTA school at the age of 59 and am still in that career.
My massage license encompasses my work with tuning forks (SomaEnergetics), Swedish and deep tissue massage, Reiki and I am now a student of Healing Touch.
I have one son and 3 grandchildren who live within an hour's short drive away. My work is scaling back to part-time now to allow for more flexibility.
Please join me to learn some tips and tricks related to health and healing.
Many blessings to you,
Chrysalis
